LibrarianOpen and Translational Knowledge Sharing
My work related to open access and university research metrics has been cited by policymakers at the federal level. The open science movement struggles to connect the values of knowledge sharing with the academic preference for publishing prestige. This is both an stubborn and expensive dilemma. My colleagues and I work to help knowledge producers find away to do both--openly share knowledge and demonstrate academic prestige.
Jere's translation of research into making scholars' work easily accessible is another excellent example of how IU Indianapolis's faculty members are TRANSLATING their RESEARCH INTO PRACTICE.
