Corporate Governance: Compensation and Board of Directors
My research is focused on the area of corporate governance including compensation and the board of directors. The research involves examining archival financial data to document and analyze changes in and relationships between governance characteristics and measures of firm performance. For example, the research demonstrates consequences of regulatory provisions on compensation structure and conditions in which firms can benefit from having their executive serve outside the firm on other boards of directors. In summary, my research is of interest to both regulators and firms in determining the appropriate design of governance mechanisms related to compensation and the board of directors.
