How Human Rights Can Build Haiti (Vanderbilt U. Press, 2014).
In my research and writing, most notably the writing of If We Can Win Here . . . The New Front Lines of the U.S. Labor Movement (Under Publisher Review)and How Human Rights Can Build Haiti: The Activists, the Lawyers, and the Grassroots Movement (Forthcoming, Vanderbilt University Press, July, 2014), I combine reviews of law and social science in discussing the same type of advocacy we conduct every day in the Health and Human Rights Clinic. In the Clinic, our students represent low-income residents of our community, most of whom are victims of wage theft or are seeking unemployment benefits after losing their jobs. In this work, local, national, and international guarantees of human rights are invoked by IU McKinney faculty and students every day.
