COVID-19 Seasonality and Relationship to Social Vulnerability in Indiana, Extreme Heat Vulnerability
Research outputs both with the listed COVID-19 project will be made available to both public health authorities and the general public to highlight areas of increased risk. This will enable health officials to predict areas of increasing COVID-19 activity and to initiate interventions that will reduce spread. Research outputs from the extreme heat project are currently utilized in a number of cities during extreme heat events. These outputs highlight areas of increased vulnerability to extreme temperatures and enable city planners and health officials to direct resources to susceptible communities. These projects represent the use of multiple data sources and "fuse" relevant data into a meaningful model that can be utilized for practical intervention during COVID-19 or extreme heat emergencies.
