Assistant ProfessorPolice Mentoring of At-Risk Youth: Case Study of Police-Led Mentoring Program Leadership Development
My research examines how police mentoring can help improve children's lives—academically, behaviorally, and socially—and ultimately reduce crime and keep communities safe. I work closely with those working in law enforcement and public policy to find creative ways to build trust and relationships with children and families in the marginalized communities they serve. My recent publication provides more insight into officers' approach to mentoring youths impacted by gun violence.
