Grassroots Maternal and Child Health Leadership Training Program
The purpose of this program is to develop community-based leaders across the state of Indiana in rural and urban communities. The grassroots maternal and child health leaders will help build the capacity of their communities to be healthy places for mothers, infants, children, and families. Healthy pregnancies need healthy neighborhoods. Healthy pregnancies lead to healthy babies which decrease infant mortality. This program brings together nursing, public health, social work, anthropology, and medicine to teach women living in high-risk zip codes to become leaders in their communities to develop plans on making their communities safer places to live for women, children, and families.
