Literacy practices fostering healing spaces in classrooms and critical dispositions in Preservice Teachers

I work as a public intellectual making my research on equity in literacy instruction accessible to all. I have worked with school districts like IPS in training teachers, evaluating curriculum, and producing literacy materials. When I am not doing this work, I am conducting webinars to make my theories of literacy a platform for healing through webinars, my work in Indianapolis' yoga community, and course instruction. I have published several research-based articles and have presented my research across the nation on my topic. My research merges topics of education, with social work, and English for the purpose of justice in the realm of education. I study and work with various educational spaces for the purpose of equity and justice for all especially marginalized communities of people who have been silenced and/ or ignored.
